MEET THE ARTIST!

I'm a character design digital artist, focused on illustration and artistic storytelling, as well as a newly published author. A majority of my art is original characters and concepts from Airay, my novel. I love doing illustrations with warm colors and meaningful characters.

Background

I am a 25-year-old who has had a love of drawing from a young age. In the words of my mother, I was drawing before I was talking. I've been creating characters and stories for as long as I can remember. My family has several artists, including my father, sister, grand father, aunt and uncle! They have all supported me greatly with growing my own style and love of creating! My interest in art and writing kicked off in high school, around the age of 14, when I first started writing Airay. From then on it was a burning passion I wanted to chase.

What does this book stand for?

I was a deeply shy child growing up. I think I lived in my head for half my life. Frankly, I've always liked it like that. It did however mean that I was an elusive quiet kid who had very few friends. My teenage years were hard. Between medical issues and wondering why I feel like an alien in this world, I found comfort in fantasy.

I wanted to build my own world. It ended up being a place that I felt safe. Something I could immerse myself in knowing I couldn't get hurt. This story got me through some of the toughest points in my life. Now, I can only hope that it can do the same for others who read it. I hope it's a source of comfort for you, a place you know you're safe. And if you need to forget about the world for awhile, I hope it can do that too.
